Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and/or using the Service, you affirm that you are at least 13 years old and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Service.

2. Beta Service Disclaimer

The Service is currently provided in a "Beta" version. This means the Service is provided "as-is" and "as-available," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Features may be added, changed, or removed without notice. Your use of the Beta Service is at your own risk.

3. User Accounts & "Proof of Play"

To use most features of the Service, you must authenticate using your Steam account. You grant us permission to access your public Steam library data (including owned games and playtime) and achievement progress for the purpose of our "Proof of Play" verification system and to display this information on your profile.

You can control the visibility of your game library and achievements from your Settings page. We do not store your Steam credentials. We are not responsible for any activity on your Steam account.

4. User Content

You retain all ownership rights to the text, information, and other content you post to the Service ("User Content").

By posting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable license to use, copy, reproduce, process, adapt, modify, publish, display, and distribute your User Content in connection with operating and promoting the Service. If your profile is set to private, we will only display your User Content anonymously.

You are solely responsible for your User Content and any consequences of posting it.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Post any content that is hateful, discriminatory, defamatory, obscene, or harassing.
• Post spam, advertisements, or any form of "review bombing."
• Attempt to manipulate the review or voting systems.
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations.

We reserve the right to remove any User Content and terminate or suspend any account that violates these Terms, at our sole discretion and without notice.

6. Feedback

We welcome your feedback. If you submit feedback or suggestions ("Feedback"), you agree that we may use your Feedback without any restriction or compensation to you.

7. AI-Assisted Development

You acknowledge that PopReviews is a passion project developed with the assistance of artificial intelligence tools. This allows for rapid development but may contribute to the "Beta" nature of the service as described in Section 2.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PopReviews and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (a) your use of the Service; (b) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; or (c) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your content.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, including for violations of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from your settings page.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new Terms on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
